Surface Parchment

Surface Parchment is a light, parchment-toned textile with a finely mottled surface. Its pale cream ground is gently broken by tiny warm grey-beige flecks, giving the swatch quiet visual depth.

About this fabric

The close, irregular weave creates a softly nubby texture rather than a flat plain surface, while the restrained cream tone keeps the overall impression airy. Subtle changes between warm ivory and muted grey-beige are visible across the swatch, making the colour feel natural and softly layered. The texture reads as a substantial upholstery cloth, suited to seating where a calm tactile finish is wanted. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Pair Surface Parchment with warm oak, chalky plaster tones and natural linens to create a light, relaxed scheme. Its softly flecked cream surface also works well on an occasional chair or sofa where subtle texture can take the place of pattern.

Use this softly mottled parchment tone to bring gentle texture and lightness to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

Surface Parchment is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
