Metropolitan Burnt Orange

Underground Volii Fabric

Metropolitan Burnt Orange has a warm terracotta ground crossed by compact, broken rectangular blocks. Cream, burgundy and charcoal accents give the surface a distinctly graphic, rhythmical appearance.

About this fabric

The design is a small-scale geometric grid of irregular vertical and horizontal bars, with the burnt-orange field remaining the dominant visual tone. Cream blocks bring sharp contrast, while deep burgundy and charcoal details add depth and prevent the colourway from reading as flat. The close, structured weave is visibly suited to upholstery rather than a fine, fluid drapery cloth. No composition, width, rub-test or additional performance specification is supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Metropolitan Burnt Orange to bring concentrated warmth to a tailored armchair, dining seat or upholstered bench. Echo the cream and charcoal blocks through plain cushions, painted timber or ceramic accents rather than introducing another strong pattern.

Use this warm burnt-orange colourway on a tailored chair, bench or occasional cushion, with cream and charcoal accents to pick up the woven blocks.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Metropolitan Burnt Orange without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
