Speck Slate

Volume Fabric

Speck Slate has a deep, cool slate-grey ground scattered with irregular pale flecks. Its dense, raised surface gives the colour a soft, dimensional appearance rather than a flat grey finish.

About this fabric

The surface is formed by closely packed, looped fibres that create a plush, nubby texture across the swatch. Small pale grey and silvery marks break through the slate ground in an uneven, organic scatter. In stronger areas of light, the raised loops catch softly, adding depth while keeping the overall colour muted and understated. The irregular flecking gives this upholstery fabric a relaxed, tactile character.

How to use it

Use Speck Slate on a generously shaped sofa, armchair or footstool where its cool grey tone can anchor pale stone, chalk and smoky blue accents. Pair it with brushed metal or weathered timber to complement the fabric’s softly mottled surface.

A dense, tactile slate-grey texture suited to relaxed upholstery and softly layered interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
