Volume Fabric

About this fabric

The slate tone sits between charcoal and softened blue-grey, with darker and lighter fibres creating a gently clouded effect across the surface. A fine, fuzzy texture is visible in the close-up, giving the fabric a muted depth as the light catches the nap. The design is catalogued as a fabric in Kirkby Design’s Volume collection, and no composition, width or performance figures are supplied for this colourway. Its substantial-looking surface makes it best suited to upholstery applications.

How to use it

Use Snug Fr Slate on a contemporary sofa, armchair or headboard where its cool grey depth can anchor pale timber, brushed metal and soft neutral textiles. Pair it with chalk, stone and smoky blue accents to draw out the subtle coolness in the shade.

Its cool, charcoal-leaning slate tone suits understated upholstery with a soft, tactile finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
