Utility Slate

Utility Fabric

Utility Slate is a deep, cool slate grey with a restrained woven surface. In the swatch image, fine intersecting threads create a subtle crosshatch texture while keeping the overall colour dark and even.

About this fabric

The close-up shows a compact textile weave in charcoal-leaning slate, with tiny variations in the threads giving the surface quiet depth rather than a pronounced pattern. Its matte finish absorbs most of the light, while a few raised threads add a gentle, tactile lift across the swatch. No composition, width, rub-test or other performance specification has been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Utility Slate where a room needs a cool, grounded grey: it suits tailored seating, headboards or occasional upholstery alongside pale woods, chalky neutrals and brushed metal.

A cool, dark woven neutral with subtle surface texture for tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
