Heat

Reds and Pinks Paint

Heat is a grounded red-brown from Little Greene that brings warmth without turning bright or cherry-like. It sits in the Reds and Pinks family, but its depth gives it a more earthy, collected feel.

About this colour

This shade reads as a warm terracotta red with a brown note, so it feels substantial and quietly rich on a wall. In north-facing light it will look deeper and more muted, with the brown undertone coming forward; in south-facing rooms the red warmth is clearer and the colour feels fuller and more glowing. It absorbs more light than it reflects, which gives it a close, enveloping character rather than a light, airy one. It sits well beside pale oak, walnut, worn leather, linen in stone or putty tones, and deeper reds or pinks that share its warmth.

How to use it

Heat suits dining rooms, studies and snug sitting rooms where you want a darker, intimate backdrop. It works especially well with painted woodwork in cream, soft brown, or near-black, and with upholstery in tan leather, oatmeal, or muted patterned grounds.

On a wall, Heat gives a room a warm, grounded depth that feels richer in strong light and softer in shade.
