About this fabric

The close-up shows a compact geometric weave made from irregular horizontal and vertical marks, giving the cloth a lightly checked, almost abstract appearance. Its denim-blue ground reads cool and gently softened rather than bright, with pale flecks catching the light across the surface. Approximately 137cm wide, Hartland Denim is specified for fixed upholstery in Contract and General Domestic settings. The composition is 13% linen, 20% polyester, 21% cotton, 3% acrylic and 43% viscose, with dry-clean aftercare.

How to use it

Pair this muted denim blue with chalky whites, soft grey, pale timber and brushed metal for a calm, contemporary scheme. The small-scale woven grid is especially suited to an armchair, dining chair or tailored sofa where its depth can be seen at close range.

Use this cool, softly mottled denim blue on fixed upholstery where its small woven grid can add texture without overpowering the room.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hartland Denim without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
