About this fabric

The small-scale pattern is formed from intersecting horizontal and vertical lines, with irregular yarn marks that soften the definition of the check. Blue-grey threads sit alongside cream and taupe-tan tones, while deeper brown flecks add quiet depth rather than strong contrast. Approximately 137cm wide, it is made from 13% linen, 20% polyester, 21% cotton, 3% acrylic and 43% viscose. Hartland Marlowe is specified for Fixed Upholstery and graded Contract, General Domestic; after-care is Dry Clean.

How to use it

Use this cool, muted check on a tailored armchair, sofa or headboard, pairing it with warm tan leather, pale timber and blue-grey painted accents. Its restrained contrast also works well where a patterned upholstery needs to sit quietly beside plain textiles.

A softly checked woven upholstery fabric that brings cool blue-grey and warm tan together on sofas, chairs and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
