About this fabric

Scribe Mocassin is a warm mushroom-taupe ground threaded with closely spaced pale marks. Short vertical dashes repeat in neat horizontal rows, while broader horizontal lines interrupt the field and give the surface a softly banded rhythm. The woven face has a tactile, lightly irregular character: the pale threads catch the light against the deeper taupe base without becoming high-contrast. Catalogued as a Fabric, its closely worked surface reads as a decorative woven textile rather than a plain cloth.

How to use it

Use this warm taupe colourway where a room needs pattern without strong contrast: it would suit a tailored armchair, upholstered headboard, Roman blind or full-length curtain alongside cream, walnut and muted stone tones.

Use its warm taupe ground and softly banded dash pattern to bring tailored texture to upholstery, curtains or cushions.

Pairs well with

Scribe Mocassin is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
