Wandle Forest/Mustard

Archive IV The Collector Wallpapers WallpaperMOW0068-02

Wandle Forest/Mustard layers large, curling floral stems and densely packed blooms across a deep forest-green ground. Cream flowers and muted mustard foliage give the design an intricate, timeworn depth.

About this wallpaper

This Morris & Co. wallpaper has a pronounced large-scale floral repeat, with scrolling stems, rounded blooms and finely detailed leaves picked out in cream, olive and warm mustard. The forest-green ground makes the lighter flowers stand forward while keeping the overall colourway cool, shaded and richly atmospheric. It has a useable width of 68.6 cm and a vertical pattern repeat of 76.2 cm, with no horizontal repeat specified. The standard length is 10.05 m and the listed weight is 153 gsm.

How to use it

Pair the forest-green ground with aged timber, cream-painted joinery and warm brass, allowing the mustard details to connect with ochre upholstery or accessories. Its dense, formal scale is particularly effective on a dining-room or study wall where the floral detail can be viewed closely.

Use this richly patterned colourway to bring an Arts and Crafts focal point to a study, dining room or hallway.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Wandle Forest/Mustard without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
