Monkshood Rhubarb

Bedford Park Fabrics FabricMOF0209-02

Monkshood Rhubarb places delicate rhubarb-red flowers and olive-green stems over a warm cream ground. The fine, closely repeated botanical pattern has a light, softly coloured presence rather than a dramatic one.

About this fabric

The warm cream background gives this colourway a gentle, aged brightness, while the rhubarb-red flowers add muted warmth and the olive stems provide a subdued green counterpoint. Slender stems, pointed leaves and small hanging blooms create the closely spaced botanical detail visible across the swatch. At 230 gsm, with a 138 cm usable width and 36.2 threads per cm, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric suitable for both upholstery and drapery. The design has a 45.5 cm vertical repeat and 46 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the small floral motifs to read as an even, continuous field.

How to use it

Use the warm cream ground to soften a reading chair, headboard or relaxed curtain scheme, then draw out the rhubarb-red flowers with muted red or terracotta accents. Olive, moss and natural wood tones will echo the stems without competing with the fine floral scale.

A warm cream botanical with rhubarb-red flowers and olive-green stems, bringing gentle colour and fine pattern to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
