Willow Boughs Woad

Simply Morris Fabrics FabricMOF0160-01

Willow Boughs Woad fills the cloth with closely spaced, curling leafy sprigs in a cool muted blue against a pale blue-white ground. The restrained contrast gives the familiar botanical pattern an airy, softly washed appearance.

About this fabric

This colourway combines woad-blue foliage with pale ground tones, creating a cool, lightly faded look rather than a bright or high-contrast blue. The fine branching leaves form a dense, rhythmic botanical field, with the 45 cm vertical repeat and 28 cm horizontal repeat clearly suited to continuous pattern placement. With a 141 cm usable width, 265 gsm weight and 35.6 threads per centimetre, it is a versatile mid-weight fabric for both upholstery and drapery. The standard length is 60 m.

How to use it

Use Willow Boughs Woad on relaxed curtains, occasional chairs or cushions where its cool blue foliage can sit alongside warm oak, ivory linen and pale painted walls. Its softened tone also works well in bedrooms and calm country-style sitting rooms.

Use the cool woad blue with pale timber, chalky neutrals and natural textures for a fresh Morris-inspired scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
