The compact woven surface reads as a softly mottled tweed, with closely packed diagonal yarns creating a tactile, lightly brushed appearance. Its mauve-brown ground is subdued and slightly smoky rather than bright, while tiny blue flecks punctuate the colour and occasional red notes add warmth. The small-scale texture makes the fabric visually calm at a distance, with more colour variation becoming visible close up.
