Dufrene Wallcovering Umber

Dufrene Wallcovering Umber has a finely mottled surface in layered taupe, warm grey and soft umber tones. Its closely broken pattern reads almost like mineral texture, with subtle variation across the wall.

About this wallpaper

As a wallpaper from Romo’s Etsu Wallcoverings collection, this colourway is defined by its small-scale, irregular pattern rather than a bold repeating motif. The Umber palette combines softened grey with brown-taupe depth, while lighter flecks and darker fragments give the surface a gently weathered appearance. The image shows a visually textured design with a restrained, quietly sophisticated character. No performance features are noted for this wallpaper.

How to use it

Use Umber to add warmth and tonal depth behind upholstered seating, joinery or a bed, particularly where a flat grey would feel too cool. Its low-contrast taupe-grey pattern works well with natural timber, stone and softly aged metals.

A softly weathered taupe-grey ground with fine, broken patterning for understated depth on walls.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Dufrene Wallcovering Umber without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
