Otis Carnelian

Floris Fabric

Otis Carnelian combines a warm carnelian red ground with a soft warm-grey pattern, creating a richly mottled textile with close-up visual depth. Its compact, irregular motif has an almost hand-drawn, woven character.

About this fabric

The surface is densely patterned with small, broken organic shapes rather than a formal repeating motif, allowing the carnelian red to read as varied and dimensional. Warm grey threads interrupt the red across the face, softening its intensity and giving the colourway a weathered, tactile quality. Fine visible texture reinforces the impression of a substantial woven fabric, while the small scale keeps the design easy to use across larger upholstered or curtained areas. The overall effect is warm, energetic and distinctly more nuanced than a plain red textile.

How to use it

Use Otis Carnelian to add warmth to a neutral room, where its red-and-warm-grey colouring can bridge timber, stone and softly painted backgrounds. The small, irregular pattern is particularly effective on an occasional chair, headboard or relaxed curtain treatment where its texture can be seen at close range.

A textured mid-weight-looking textile that brings warm carnelian colour and lively small-scale pattern to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
