Raja beige

Country Folk Fabricraja/fa1/sto

Raja Beige is a softly muted beige fabric with a delicate small-scale folk floral scattered across the surface. The warm ochre accents and pale leaf forms sit quietly on the textured ground, giving it a calm, homespun feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 140cm-wide fabric has the dry, natural handle you would expect from a cotton-linen mix. The beige ground is warm and slightly weathered rather than bright, which helps the tiny floral motifs read gently instead of sharply. Small touches of mustard, cream and brown lift the design without overpowering the base cloth, so the repeat feels subtle from a distance and detailed up close. It is dry clean only and the maker advises against bleach, fabric softener and tumble drying; the cloth is also iron safe.

How to use it

Use Raja Beige where you want pattern without contrast: it suits relaxed upholstery, cushions or café-style curtains in a country scheme. Its muted beige tone pairs especially well with painted timber, oatmeal linens and deeper brown accents.

A gentle neutral with a tiny folk motif, ideal for layered country interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Raja beige without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
