Ashbrook Noir

Ferndene Fabric FabricCCF0693-03

Ashbrook Noir brings a deep, inky ground to a tightly packed botanical field, with curling leaves and small flower heads picked out in cream, rust, ochre and muted blue. The dark base gives the warm accents a crisp, graphic lift rather than a soft pastel feel.

About this fabric

The dense floral composition is arranged on a 68.5 cm vertical and horizontal repeat, giving the design a clear square pattern unit despite its richly filled surface. At 279 gsm and 137 cm usable width, Ashbrook Noir has a substantial mid-weight presence that suits both upholstery and drapery applications. In this colourway, navy-black depth is threaded with ivory, tobacco, burnt orange and slate blue, creating a cool, dramatic backdrop with flashes of warmth. Fine leaf outlines, curling stems and layered flower heads keep the 40 m standard-length cloth visually active across a larger scheme.

How to use it

Use Ashbrook Noir on a reading-room chair, headboard or full-length curtains where its inky ground can anchor warm wood and brass. Balance the dense botanical pattern with plain fabrics in chalk, camel or deep navy.

Pair the inky ground with warm timber, aged brass and quiet neutral upholstery for a richly layered scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
