Terrariums Ink/Papaya

Glasshouse Fabrics FabricSAF0300-03

Terrariums Ink/Papaya sets a deep ink-blue ground beneath a lively series of terrarium-style botanical panels. The cream arches, cactus greens and papaya-tinted florals read crisply against the dark background.

About this fabric

From Sanderson’s Glasshouse Fabrics collection, this fabric is woven at 140 cm wide with a 61.5 cm vertical repeat and 92.5 cm horizontal repeat, giving the large arch motifs plenty of room to register clearly. At 236 gsm and 74 threads per cm, it has a substantial mid-weight handle that suits curtains as well as softer furnishing projects. The ink ground is cool and saturated, which sharpens the ivory panels and makes the cactus greens, blue-green succulents and papaya accents feel fresh rather than sugary. The repeated terrarium blocks create a decorative, almost framed effect that reads clean and graphic on the cloth.

How to use it

Use Terrariums Ink/Papaya on statement curtains, a feature chair or cushions where the dark ground can bring depth to a room. It works especially well with pale oak, chalky neutrals and brushed brass, which lift the papaya notes and soften the ink blue.

Pair with pale woods and warm neutrals to let the botanical blocks stand out.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Terrariums Ink/Papaya without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
