About this fabric

The swatch presents a quiet, near-black blue ground with fine woven variation that gives the surface gentle depth as the light moves across it. At 410 gsm and 22 threads per cm, Ruskin Ink has the substantial handle and visual weight associated with upholstery cloth. Its 140 cm useable width is practical for plain-covered furniture, while the 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeats allow efficient cutting without motif matching. The standard length is 30 m, making it suitable for coordinated upholstery projects where a consistent dark tone is required.

How to use it

Use this cool blue-charcoal colourway on a tailored sofa, dining chair or ottoman, pairing it with warm timber and aged brass to soften its almost-black depth. It also works as a calm dark counterpoint to pale stone, chalky neutrals and muted blue accents.

A substantial ink-blue plain weave for tailored upholstery, cushions and dark, quietly textured accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
