About this fabric

Ruskin May Blue is a muted, cool blue with a softly dusty cast, rather than a bright or saturated colour. Its face is plain and quietly textured: fine horizontal and vertical threads create a restrained woven grain, with slight tonal variation across the swatch. The 410gsm weight and 22 threads per cm give the cloth a substantial, closely woven specification suited to upholstery. It has a 140cm usable width and no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat; the standard length is 30m.

How to use it

Use this cool powder-blue colourway on a sofa, armchair or headboard where its quiet tone can soften warmer timber, natural fibres and pale neutrals. Its plain surface also works well when a room already includes patterned curtains, cushions or rugs.

The cool, muted blue brings a calm tailored feel to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
