About this colour

This shade reads cool overall, with the blue giving it clarity and the grey keeping it restrained; the small green undertone stops it feeling icy. It reflects light well enough to keep a room open, but it still has body, so it will not vanish into the wall. In a north-facing room it can look more steely and muted, with the cooler side of the colour coming forward. In south light it softens and becomes airier, showing more of its blue-green lift. It sits neatly beside pale oak, painted joinery in off-white, deep navy upholstery and muted linen tones.

How to use it

Use High Sea on walls in a sitting room, bedroom or study where you want a calm colour with enough depth for woodwork. It pairs well with natural oak, cream-painted trim, and upholstery in stone, denim blue or softened green-grey.

High Sea gives a wall a cool, settled blue-grey that stays clear without feeling harsh.
