Clay Powder

2026 Paint PaintSAP1030-74

Clay Powder is a soft, lifted neutral from Sanderson’s 2026 Paint collection. It sits in a gentle stone-and-cream direction, with enough warmth to feel settled rather than stark.

About this colour

At #ECE8DC, Clay Powder reads as a pale warm beige with a quiet powdery softness, lifting a room without looking white. In north-facing light it can appear slightly greyer and more muted, which keeps it calm and usable on all four walls. In south-facing rooms the warmth comes forward, so it feels lighter, creamier and more sunlit. It works well beside natural oak, painted joinery in deeper taupes, and upholstery in linen, fawn, mushroom or muted green.

How to use it

It suits living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where you want a pared-back wall colour that does not compete with patterned curtains or upholstered pieces. Use it on walls with off-white woodwork, or on joinery with soft timber and warm neutral upholstery nearby.

A soft warm neutral that brings a room forward without feeling bright.

Pairs well with

Clay Powder is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
