Goldings Hops Mallow/Nettle

Sanderson x National Trust Volume II FabricSAF0487-01

Goldings Hops Mallow/Nettle is shown here on a warm cream ground, scattered with small botanical sprigs in soft blush pink and olive green. The repeat reads light and orderly, with plenty of ground showing between the motifs.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x National Trust Volume II fabric is a substantial textile with a useable width of 138 cm, a standard length of 30 m, a 22.5 cm vertical repeat and a 34.5 cm horizontal repeat. At 410 gsm and 33 threads per cm, it has the body you would expect from an upholstery fabric rather than a floaty drape. Visually, the cream background feels mellow and slightly ivory rather than stark white, which keeps the tiny pink blooms and nettle-green leaves looking fresh but subdued. The small-scale pattern gives the cloth a neat, tailored rhythm, and the all-over spacing leaves the design feeling airy despite the weight.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a compact armchair, occasional chair or bench where the cream ground can lift a room without feeling bright. It also works well with painted wood in sage, mushroom or soft oak tones, letting the pink-flowered sprigs stay gentle and countryside-fresh.

A soft cream base with gentle pink and olive motifs suits upholstered pieces that need a light, country-house feel.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Goldings Hops Mallow/Nettle without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
