Woven Fabric Fabric

Melton 06 is a near-black woven with a low-key, matte surface and a faintly mottled look under light. Its deep charcoal tone reads clean and modern rather than glossy.

About this fabric

This colourway sits in a very dark charcoal-black, with tiny shifts in the weave that soften the surface instead of making it flat. The fabric is from Titley & Marr’s Woven Fabric collection and no performance features are noted. Visually it feels tightly woven and fairly dense, which suits the practical character implied by the name and the close, even texture. The finish has a restrained, tailored look, with just enough grain to keep the black from appearing harsh.

How to use it

Use Melton 06 to ground pale upholstery, oak joinery or brushed metal accents, where its deep charcoal tone will add contrast without looking stark. It is especially effective on structured seating, headboards or bench cushions in contemporary schemes.

A versatile dark neutral that works neatly on tailored seating and clean-lined schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
