Malleny Black is a deeply shaded woven fabric with a tight, tactile surface and a restrained charcoal-black finish. The close weave gives the colourway a softly variegated look rather than a flat solid.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a cool charcoal black, with lighter yarn flecks catching the surface and giving the weave gentle movement. At 320gsm and 138cm usable width, it has the reassuring weight to work across curtains, blinds and upholstery without losing its textured character. The composition is 80% polyester and 20% polamide, and it is specified as Iron Safe with spot clean only care. The overall effect is smart and understated, with enough surface interest to keep a dark room scheme from feeling too severe.

How to use it

Use Malleny Black to ground pale walls, brushed metal finishes and warm timber, where its textured black tone adds contrast without looking stark. It is especially effective on tailored upholstery or full-length curtains when you want a deep, architectural finish.

A dark, versatile weave that adds depth without feeling glossy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
