Sapphire black

Zircon Fabricsapphir/fa1/cha

Sapphire black is a rich, near-black plain weave with a soft matte depth and just enough visible texture to keep the surface from looking flat. The colour reads as a cool charcoal-black rather than a hard jet black, giving it a more tailored, upholstered feel.

About this fabric

This Sapphire black colourway from the Zircon collection has a tightly woven, low-key texture that softens the darkness and catches the light with a subtle chalky grain. The fabric is supplied at 140cm wide with a 138cm usable width, and its heavy 700gsm construction and 100,000 Martindale rub count make it a strong choice for upholstery as well as curtains and blinds. Its composition of 92% polyester, 5% cotton and 3% linen gives the surface a grounded, slightly natural handle without losing the clean depth of the black tone. With no pattern repeat, the look stays crisp and contemporary, ideal where a plain dark cloth is needed.

How to use it

Use this shade on a statement armchair, banquette or tailored curtains where a deep neutral will anchor the room. It pairs especially well with pale oak, brushed brass and lighter linens for contrast.

A dense dark neutral that adds depth and works beautifully across seating or window dressings.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
