Crush Charcoal is a deep, near-black textile with a visibly crushed pile that shifts between dense black and cool charcoal as the light moves across it. Its irregular tonal surface gives the plain dark colour noticeable depth.

About this fabric

The heavy 580gsm handle and plush, light-catching surface make this fabric particularly suited to upholstery. Cool charcoal highlights emerge through the darker black ground, creating a smoky, mottled effect rather than a flat solid. With a usable width of 140cm and no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat, it can be planned without matching a motif. The standard length is 30m.

How to use it

Use Crush Charcoal on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair in a room needing a dramatic, cool-toned anchor. Pair its blackened charcoal depth with pale stone, smoked glass or brushed metal so the crushed surface remains the focus.

Use this deep charcoal velvet-style cloth on statement seating where its crushed pile can catch the light.
