Sissinghurst Charcoal

Castle Garden FabricCCF0190-01

Sissinghurst Charcoal brings a cool, deep charcoal ground to the Castle Garden floral, overlaid with softly aged stone, sage and muted olive botanical forms. The close-woven surface gives the richly detailed design a tactile, textile-led presence.

About this fabric

This 340 gsm fabric has a densely woven appearance, with fine crosswise texture visible beneath the illustrated flowers, leaves and trailing stems. The charcoal-grey background reads cool and atmospheric, while the pale stone blooms and subdued sage foliage create gentle contrast rather than a bright, high-saturation effect. Its large pattern measures 60 cm vertically by 91.5 cm horizontally, allowing the oversized peony-like flowers and layered leaves to make a clear visual statement. The 140 cm usable width is suitable for coordinated upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Sissinghurst Charcoal on a statement chair, bench or full-length curtains where its dark, cool ground can add depth without losing the botanical detail. Pair it with weathered timber, warm ivory and muted olive accents to soften the charcoal tone.

Use the cool charcoal ground to anchor traditional rooms, with pale stone and muted sage accents to draw out the botanical detail.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Sissinghurst Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
