About this fabric

The swatch has a softly variegated taupe-olive base, overlaid with loose charcoal-black and dark fern markings that create a weathered, organic impression. Fine woven texture remains visible through the mottling, while lighter areas catch the light more softly than the darker patches. At 580 gsm, this is a substantial textile suited to upholstery rather than a lightweight curtain application. It has a 140 cm usable width, a standard 30 m length, and no pattern repeat vertically or horizontally.

How to use it

Pair Crush Fern with warm taupe, aged oak and brushed bronze to draw out its earthy olive depth, or use it as a grounding contrast to pale plaster shades. Its irregular black mottling works particularly well on statement chairs, sofas and ottomans.

Use the fern-olive and black mottling to bring depth to upholstered seating, especially against warm neutral walls and timber.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
