Varallo black
Varallo Fabricvarallo/fa1/cha
Varallo in Black is a deeply shaded, textural fabric with a subtle cross-hatched surface that breaks up the darkness. The finish reads soft and matte rather than glossy, giving the colourway real depth.

About this fabric
This colourway is made from 100% polyester and is suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery, with a strong 70,000 Martindale rub test. The fabric has a substantial 556gsm weight, so it presents as a fuller, more structured cloth rather than a light drape. Visually, the black tone is softened by fine charcoal and graphite flecks that create a woven, almost brushed look across the surface. The repeat is 0 x 0, so the interest comes from the texture itself rather than a printed motif. Dry clean only and do not iron.
How to use it
Use this black tone to ground a scheme with walnut, oak or pale linen, where the subtle texture can add contrast without introducing pattern. It is especially effective on upholstery pieces or tailored curtains that benefit from a more architectural, low-sheen finish.
A dark, textural black that feels tailored and easy to pair with warm woods or pale neutrals.
Pairs well with
Varallo black is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
