Cape Mohair Nightfall
Cape Mohair Fabric
Cape Mohair Nightfall is a richly dark, near-black plain with a soft, velvety surface and subtle tonal movement. The finish catches the light gently, giving the cloth a low-sheen depth rather than a flat black appearance.

About this fabric
Woven in a 50% Mohair and 50% Acrylic blend, this upholstery fabric has the dense, tactile look you expect from a mohair cloth, balanced by a practical synthetic component. The 140 cm width and plain structure make it straightforward to cut and cover clean-lined seating, while the 80,000 Martindale rub test underlines its suitability for hard-wearing use. Visually, Nightfall reads as a deep charcoal black with faint smoky highlights and a soft, brushed texture that keeps the colour from feeling harsh. The surface has a quiet variation in tone that adds richness without introducing pattern.
How to use it
Use this shade on a sofa, armchair or ottoman when you want a dramatic neutral that still feels restrained. It works especially well with walnut timber, pale stone, or warm metallic accents, where the dark charcoal tone creates strong contrast.
A dark, refined neutral that suits tailored upholstery and brings quiet depth to a room.

Pairs well with
Cape Mohair Nightfall is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
