Cape Mohair Indigo

Cape Mohair Fabric

Cape Mohair Indigo is a deep, cool blue with a softly mottled mohair finish and a subtle low sheen. The surface reads dense and tactile, giving the colour extra depth without appearing glossy.

About this fabric

Woven in a plain cloth structure, this indigo colourway has a fine, even texture that lets the pile-like mohair surface catch the light in darker and lighter blue tones. The mix of 50% Mohair and 50% Acrylic gives it a plush hand and a practical balance for upholstery, while the 140 cm width makes it straightforward to pattern-match on larger pieces. With an 80,000 Martindale rub test, it is well suited to hard-working seating, and the overall effect is a smart, slate-leaning blue rather than a bright navy. The finish feels understated and tailored, with just enough movement in the weave to keep the colour from looking flat.

How to use it

Use this shade on a sofa, armchair or ottoman where you want a refined blue that still feels substantial. It works especially well with ivory, charcoal and warm timber, which bring out the fabric’s cooler indigo depth.

A rich, cool indigo that adds depth to tailored seating and pairs well with pale woods or crisp neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
