Cape Mohair Fir

Cape Mohair Fabric

Cape Mohair Fir is a deep olive-green plain with a softly mottled mohair surface and a quietly refined finish. The colour sits in a dark, earthy register that feels natural rather than bright.

About this fabric

Woven in 50% Mohair and 50% Acrylic, this upholstery fabric has the tactile, lightly brushed look you expect from mohair, with a subtle sheen that catches the light across the pile. The 140 cm width and plain repeat make it straightforward for tailored furniture covering, while the 80,000 Martindale rub test confirms a robust performance for regular use. Fir reads as a muted forest-olive tone, with darker and lighter yarn movement that gives the surface depth without introducing pattern. Its understated texture keeps the colour feeling sophisticated and grounded rather than glossy or overtly decorative.

How to use it

Use this shade on a sofa, armchair or banquette to bring in a dense, woodland green that pairs well with oak, leather and warm neutrals. It also works neatly on cushions or a headboard where you want depth without a strong pattern.

A rich, grounded green that works beautifully on tailored seating and statement headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
