Cape Mohair Mushroom

Cape Mohair Fabric

Cape Mohair Mushroom is a soft, tonal neutral with a gently flecked surface and a warm mushroom-brown cast. The pile catches the light subtly, giving the plain weave quiet depth rather than a flat finish.

About this fabric

Woven in 50% Mohair and 50% Acrylic, this Cape Mohair colourway is designed for upholstery and has a substantial 80,000 Martindale rub test, making it well suited to everyday seating. The surface reads as a warm taupe with brown undertones, softened by a fine, velvety nap that shifts slightly in tone as the light moves across it. At 140 cm wide and with a plain repeat, it presents as a clean, unfussy upholstery cloth that relies on texture and colour rather than pattern. The overall effect is calm and grounded, with just enough sheen to keep the mushroom shade from looking heavy.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, sofa or banquette where a smart neutral is needed without the starkness of grey. Its mushroom warmth works especially well with oak, walnut, linen whites and deep olive accents.

A warm, understated neutral that brings depth and softness to tailored seating.

Pairs well with

Cape Mohair Mushroom is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
