Calais Gruffalo

Calais Fabric

Calais Gruffalo is a calm, textural plain with a grounded mushroom-taupe look. The weave reads softly mottled, giving the surface subtle depth rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric

Woven in 52% Recycled Polyester and 48% Polyester, this plain curtaining fabric has a wide 300 cm width and no visible repeat. The close weave shows a fine grid-like texture that softens the colour into a warm, earthy taupe with a grey-brown cast. In the image, the tone sits low and muted, so it feels understated rather than crisp or cool. Its broad width makes it well suited to smooth, continuous curtain drops with a clean, tailored finish.

How to use it

Use this shade where you want drapery to recede gently into the room, especially against oak, stone and painted neutrals. It works particularly well with layered natural textures and bronze or aged brass accents.

A quietly tonal neutral that layers well with warm timber, linen and soft metallics.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
