Calais Hessian

Calais Fabric

Calais Hessian has a calm, linen-like surface with a fine open weave that reads clearly in this warm taupe colourway. The tone sits between stone and mushroom, giving it an earthy softness rather than a flat beige finish.

About this fabric

This Calais fabric from Warwick is a plain curtaining textile, composed of 52% recycled polyester and 48% polyester, with a generous 300 cm width for wide drops and fewer joins. In the image, the weave appears crisp and evenly structured, with tiny flecks of lighter and darker yarn giving the surface a dry, natural texture. The Hessian colourway is a muted warm taupe with brown and grey undertones, so it feels grounded and versatile rather than cool or chalky. Because the pattern repeat is plain and the martindale rub test is not applicable, the emphasis is on drape, texture and colour depth rather than decoration or hard-wearing use. It works especially well where you want a fabric that looks relaxed but still neat and tailored at the window.

How to use it

Use this shade for full-length curtains, Roman blinds or simple layered sheers where the weave can catch the light. Its earthy taupe tone sits comfortably with oak, plaster pinks, pale stone and deeper chocolate accents.

An easy neutral with a natural linen-look texture for soft, understated curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
