Cape Mohair Papyrus

Cape Mohair Fabric

Cape Mohair Papyrus is a quiet, earthy neutral with a soft golden-beige cast and a gently lustrous surface. The plain mohair pile reads plush rather than glossy, giving the colour a warm, settled depth.

About this fabric

This Papyrus colourway shows a muted beige-brown tone with hints of stone and dry sand, so it feels warmer and more cocooning than a cooler greige. The surface has a subtle directional nap that catches the light softly, creating delicate shading across the cloth without any visible pattern. Made from 50% Mohair and 50% Acrylic, it has the tactile richness associated with mohair while remaining practical for upholstery. At 140 cm wide and with a Martindale rub test of 80,000, it is well suited to everyday seating and bench cushions where a durable, plain finish is needed.

How to use it

Use it on a sofa, armchair or banquette to bring warmth to oak, walnut and linen textures. Its understated papyrus tone works especially well with earthy palettes, matte black accents and softened whites.

A refined neutral with a smooth, plush hand that suits tailored seating and calm interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
