About this fabric

The colour reads as a cool, heavily shaded charcoal, with lighter graphite threads appearing intermittently across the surface. Fine crinkling and irregular linear marks create a dry, tactile character that changes gently as the light moves over it. The dense-looking texture gives the fabric a tailored, structured presence well suited to upholstered furniture. With no contrasting motif visible, the emphasis remains on depth, surface variation and the almost black charcoal tone.

How to use it

Use Chesterfield Carbon on a sofa, armchair or dining seat where its cool charcoal tone can anchor a contemporary scheme. Pair it with pale timber, brushed metal or warm neutral upholstery to bring out the subtle graphite variation.

Use this deep charcoal texture to give upholstered seating a quietly tailored, contemporary finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
