Eco-Velvet Velvet

Eco-Velvet Shadow is a deep near-black velvet with a muted charcoal cast. In the photograph, its smooth surface gathers into broad folds, revealing a restrained sheen rather than a high-gloss finish.

About this fabric

The plain velvet surface appears almost black in its deepest areas, while raised folds catch the light in soft charcoal highlights. Its close, even pile gives the cloth a smooth appearance and lets the sculptural drape of the swatch define its texture. As a velvet, it is well suited to upholstery, particularly when a dark, enveloping finish is wanted. No performance features are noted for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Shadow on a statement armchair, sofa or ottoman in a room with warm timber, aged brass or pale stone to balance its cool, near-black depth. Keep surrounding textiles quieter so the gentle light shift across the velvet remains visible.

A deep, softly lustrous velvet that brings dramatic depth to upholstered seating and occasional pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
