Ghent Fabric

Ghent Ebony is a near-black woven fabric with a quietly animated surface. Fine, lighter threads trace irregular, flowing lines across the charcoal ground, giving the cloth depth without a bold printed motif.

About this fabric

The dense-looking weave combines charcoal, black and subtly lighter threads in an all-over pattern of gently wavering lines. Its surface reads textured rather than smooth, with the raised folds catching small changes in tone as the fabric bends. The dark ebony colourway has a cool, understated mood and a tailored appearance, while the visible cloth weight makes it versatile for upholstery or drapery.

How to use it

Use Ghent Ebony to bring depth to a modern sofa, occasional chair or full-length curtain, particularly alongside pale stone, warm oak or softly lit metallic accents. Its near-black tone can anchor a room without the flatness of a plain black textile.

Pair the deep ebony tone with warm timber, brushed metal or soft neutral upholstery for contrast.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
