About this fabric
The swatch shows a closely woven, plain surface with a fine texture that remains understated rather than patterned. Its cool coal tone reads deepest where the cloth folds, while raised areas catch a softer graphite-grey light. The fabric falls into fluid, flexible folds, making it particularly suited to drapery. No composition, width, rub test or performance features are supplied for this colourway, so the visible weave and handle remain the clearest guide.
How to use it
Use Loire Coal for full-length curtains or relaxed Roman blinds where its cool, near-black grey can frame a room with quiet depth. Pair it with pale stone, chalky grey or warm timber to keep the dark tone considered rather than severe.
Use this deep charcoal grey for understated curtains, layering it with lighter textures to soften its depth.

Pairs well with
Loire Coal is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
