About this colour

This shade reads as a soft blue with a clear grey cast, so it feels cool rather than sugary or bright. At #C5CDD0 it lifts a room gently without becoming white, and it keeps a composed, slightly airy presence on the wall. In north-facing light it can lean more silver and muted, emphasising its cooler side; in south-facing rooms it opens out a little and shows more of its pale blue note. It sits well beside white-painted joinery, dark stained timber, oak floors and upholstered pieces in chalky neutrals, slate, taupe or denser navy tones. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it keeps the same restrained character across walls or woodwork.

How to use it

Use Half La Seine in a sitting room, bedroom or hallway where you want a colour that is quiet but not flat. It works neatly with pale oak joinery, painted cupboards and upholstery in linen, stone, ink blue or soft charcoal.
