About this colour

At #CBCBC1, Platinum Grey reads as a pale grey with a subtle beige note, so it feels warmer than a blue-grey and cooler than a taupe. It reflects a fair amount of light, which helps it stay open and calm on walls rather than heavy or flat. In north-facing rooms it can look a little cooler and more mineral, while in south-facing light the warmth comes forward and the colour feels easier and more forgiving. On woodwork it gives a clean, settled edge, and it sits well beside natural linen, oatmeal, soft charcoal, walnut, and painted joinery in deeper greys.

How to use it

It suits sitting rooms, bedrooms, and libraries where a restrained wall colour is needed alongside upholstered pieces in stone, driftwood, or muted pattern. It also works well with timber shelves, skirtings, and doors, especially where you want the woodwork to feel crisp but not sharp.

A soft pale grey that stays calm on the wall and shifts gently with the light.

Pairs well with

Platinum Grey is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
