About this colour

This shade reads as a cool, muted blue-grey with enough depth to hold its shape and enough lift to avoid looking flat. On the wall it absorbs more light than it reflects, so it feels steady rather than bright, but the blue in it keeps it from becoming heavy. In a north-facing room it will lean cooler and slightly more mineral, while in south-facing light the blue softens and the grey looks clearer and more balanced. It works well beside pale oak, smoked timber and painted joinery, and it gives a good backdrop to upholstery in chalky neutrals, deep navy or muted green.

How to use it

Use Taylor's Grey on walls in a sitting room, study or hallway where you want a restrained, tailored look. It suits woodwork in the same tone for a quieter scheme, or it can sit beside linen, velvet and woven upholstery in soft stone, inky blue or mossy shades.

A calm blue-grey that settles neatly on the wall.
