About this colour

This shade reads as a soft, light mushroom with a warm beige base and just enough grey to stop it from feeling creamy or flat. Its value of #E5E1D8 means it lifts a room gently rather than whitening it, so it keeps some body on the wall while still feeling airy. In north-facing light it can look a little cooler and more stone-like, with the grey edge becoming clearer. In south-facing rooms it warms up and shows its biscuit-beige side, which suits it well beside walnut, oak, linen, taupe upholstery and deeper Zoffany colours.

How to use it

Use it for sitting rooms, hallways or bedrooms where you want a restrained wall colour that will not fight with patterned curtains or upholstered furniture. It works neatly with painted woodwork in off-white or with natural timber, and it sits well beside muted velvets, textured weaves and classic dark woods.
