Quarter Ice Floes

2026 Paint PaintZOP1109-24

Quarter Ice Floes is a very pale grey with a clean, pared-back feel. In Zoffany’s 2026 Paint range, it reads as a soft near-neutral rather than a white.

About this colour

This shade sits just below white, with enough grey in it to stop it feeling stark and enough warmth to keep it from turning icy. On a wall it reflects a good amount of light, so it can make smaller rooms feel more open without looking bright. In north-facing rooms it will read cooler and a little more silvery, while south-facing light brings out its warmer side and softens the grey. It works well beside chalky off-whites, deeper stone shades, pale oak, and upholstered pieces in linen, wool, or textured neutral tones. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion and True Matt, it stays restrained and tailored across both walls and woodwork.

How to use it

Use it in living rooms, hallways, or bedrooms where you want a light backdrop that still has depth. It sits neatly with painted joinery in white, and with curtains or upholstery in flax, sand, taupe, or muted blue-grey tones.

A very pale grey that keeps walls light without looking plain white.

Order it with the cloth

A pot comes off the same order as the fabric, so the wall and the chair in front of it are chosen together. The making is ours: cut, sewn and fitted in our own Heybridge workshop, with Simon over every stage.

Pairs well with

Quarter Ice Floes is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
