About this colour

This shade reads cool overall, with a gentle green cast softened by grey, and the #DFE0D8 value keeps it light and airy. On a wall it lifts daylight rather than reflecting it sharply, so it feels calm and easy in most rooms. In a north-facing room it can look more silvery and restrained, with the green note pushed back. In south-facing light it warms slightly and shows its full pale sage-grey character, especially beside pale oak, walnut, chalky whites and upholstery in subdued neutrals or muted greens. The finish range makes it suitable for both walls and woodwork, where it will stay soft rather than stark.

How to use it

Use Half Ice Floes in a sitting room, bedroom or hallway where you want a fresh background for curtains in natural linen, printed drapery in faded greens, or a sofa in oatmeal, taupe or moss. It also suits painted joinery, especially with pale timber floors, brushed brass details and dark-stained wood for contrast.
