About this colour

This shade sits between cool grey and softened taupe, with the slight mauve note in #7A787B giving it more character than a plain neutral. It holds light without feeling bright, so on a wall it reads calm and composed rather than flat. In a north-facing room it can feel a touch cooler and more slate-like, while in south light the faint warmth in the colour becomes easier to read. It works well beside pale oak, walnut and painted joinery, and it gives linen, velvet and patterned upholstery a settled background in all three finishes.

How to use it

Use Fig Grey in a sitting room, study or hallway where you want a colour that feels grown-up and easy to live with. It sits neatly with cream or off-white woodwork, and it also pairs well with deep green, burgundy and natural wood furniture.
