Anatolian Stripe Madder/Indigo

Rare Textiles FabricZOF0221-01

Anatolian Stripe Madder/Indigo combines broad, deep indigo and madder-red vertical bands with narrow contrasting linear details. The densely textured surface gives the colourway a grounded, tailored character, with the red reading warm against the cooler blue and charcoal tones.

About this fabric

Woven at 560 gsm with 82 threads per centimetre, this substantial fabric is suited to upholstery. Its 135 cm usable width carries a strong vertical stripe arrangement, with the pattern repeating every 1 cm vertically and 45 cm horizontally. The madder stripes have a muted brick-red depth, while the indigo bands appear cool and dark, separated by charcoal-grey grounds and fine pinpoint lines. Subtle surface variation catches the light across the weave without softening the graphic clarity of the stripes.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a generous armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where the 135 cm width and vertical stripe can be shown clearly. Pair the warm madder red with aged wood and rust accents, then balance the cooler indigo and charcoal with muted blue-grey furnishings.

A substantial striped weave that brings warm madder red and cool indigo depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
