Embroidered Ikat Stripe Amber

Rare Textiles FabricZOF0230-02

Embroidered Ikat Stripe Amber combines a rich amber-brown ground with vertically arranged, jagged ikat stripes in cream, camel and deeper brown. The close-up reveals a lively, irregular surface where the pale threads break up the warmth of the ground.

About this fabric

This substantial textile weighs 658 gsm and has a usable width of 132.5 cm, making its dense woven structure particularly well suited to upholstery. The pattern forms medium-scale vertical bands, with a 22 cm vertical repeat and 33 cm horizontal repeat. Cream and camel marks flicker through the amber field, while darker brown accents give each stripe definition and prevent the colourway from reading flat. A thread count of 30 threads per cm supports the closely built appearance visible across the swatch.

How to use it

Use this warm, earthy amber colourway on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard, pairing it with aged wood, tobacco leather and quiet cream textiles. Orient the vertical ikat bands to emphasise the tailored lines of the upholstered piece.

Use the warm amber ground to bring depth to tailored upholstery, balanced with cream or natural linen accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Embroidered Ikat Stripe Amber without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
